Workshop description
How do you teach listening skills? Is all that you do teaching to the exam? Where in a real life context do we listen without context, without visual cues? The ‘listen twice, answer questions’ model works for few. Students who didn’t hear and understand in that time are not learning. This workshop explores a variety of ways (from simple to more advanced) to add interest to listening items that students work on independently. Explore different ways of presenting the listening item itself as well as variety in the ways students can demonstrate understanding. Bring listening to life in your classes!
